Suggestions for placement of ipod interface?????

Ok, so I am always burning cd's like crazy, and would like to just hook up a jvc ipod interface deal that just connects through the changer port in my aftermarket deck (yes, its a jvc). I am wondering where you guys think I should make a slot for threading the dock connector for the ipod through. (99 4runner) Thanks!

I have a 4th gen and my interface was mounted under the panel where the gear shifter is. the a slot was cut into the arm rest and the cable was ran through that slot and my ipod is inside of the arm rest. but again thats on my 4th gen.
