Suggestions with P0302

Recently after a trip to Tahoe I had my CE light come on as well as the VSC and TRAC OFF. I have a Scan Guage so i checked the code and P0302 came up. supposed to be Cylinder 2 misfire from what I've read? Ive had a misfire code before, about a year ago after wheeling in Big Sur and cleared it because i had no problems, engine ran smooth, and figured id see if it persisted, which it did not. The code came back after the trip to Tahoe as stated, and same thing, nothing seems to be wrong so i cleared the code to see if it would come back. Today the code came back which was about a month after my Tahoe trip. Same thing, engine runs fine, no rough idle no loss of power from what i can tell. Im not sure in what direction i should be going with the code. coil pack, wires, im not sure. Any suggestions or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Clear the code, switch cyl. #2 coil pack with another cyl. Drive the vehicle and when the light appears check it to see what cyl is misfiring. If the miss moved to the cyl that you installed the coil pack from #2 onto then you know its the coil. If the code po302 reappears that indicates that cyl 2 is still misfiring so that eliminates a faulty coil pack. If cyl 2 is still misfiring the cause could be power to the coil pack or a injector/fuel issue to that cylinder.

I had the same code. I checked the plugs, wires and finally coil packs, after all those were cleared I checked the injector and that was the culprit. Good luck on your trouble shooting, hopefully it's just a plug or wire.

What everyone else said. Swapping the coil pack is the first thing I would do. Trying t narrow it down.

If it does end up being an injector, they are expensive. But they can be rebuilt. Maybe a local shop. I know there are places online you can ship them to.
