It's not actually a recall in the U.S., either. It's a "Technical Service Bulletin", or TSB. A TSB is an "official" prescribed fix when a customer comes in to the dealer with a problem.
Talk to your dealer about it, and if you don't get satisfaction, call the national Toyota customer service or sales office.

A few weeks back I went to Scarbrough Lexus Toyota, Told the service rep. I have a sulfer smell, he ordered new cats, pipes ... no hassle. I'v just got the truck back, with all the rain I haven't had the window down yet, so I can't say if there's any change. The Rep. did mention the cats have been revised again, and require a diffrent bracket, still on B/O from Japan.

I'm not sure how long for the B/O on the bracket. When I picked up the truck they said it was comming from Japan, and would call when it arrived, and would need 1/2 hour to install it. The cats also came from Japan, they arrived in about 2 weeks.
Joseph Yung was the service rep. very helpful. I'm off to Windsor this weekend, lots of miles to tell if these changes have maid any diffrence.

Took my 2005 in for the sniff test exactly one week ago. They called yesterday to say the parts were in and I got the pipes and both cat convertors replaced today. Mechanic even came to see me when I came to get it to warn that the pipes would be burning off some coating for a few days and making even a different smell.
They even replaced my front pads and turned the rotors under warranty (at 23K miles !). They called first and got me to authorize paying for the pads and rotor turning but had a change of heart I suppose.
