Sulfur smell in '04 V6-Calling Campaign
I started this thread only for this engine 4runner. All the other ones are a mix of other years and engines, which can be really hard for a lot of people to sort through. I have a 2004 V6 4wd 4runner. Like many others, I too have a horrible Sulfur smell coming from the exhaust. TSB EG015-04 only covers this specific 4runner up to the VIN# ending in 40032900. Well, mine is exactly 287 units above that. So I called up TOYOTA and asked them about it. The woman on the phone stated I needed to call TOYOTA between the hours of 6a-6p Monday-Friday. She stated that if they get enough complaints they may extend the VIN#'s covered. So I am going to call them and continue to call them until they do something about it. I have heard that this is even a problem on the 2005's, which to me is totally unacceptable for a $30k truck that not only was my first TOYOTA product, but also my first FRESH-OFF-THE-ASSEMBLY-LINE purchase!
Here is what I purpose:
Everyone call 1-800-331-4331 ext.3 and complain! Together we may accomplish something.
