Sun roof wind deflector=noise reduction?

I have an ’02 SE, not that that should matter, but does anyone know if the aftermarket sunroof deflector will reduce wind noise? With the sunroof open, it can be a bit noisy at higher speeds. If I pull down the stock deflector, the “whistle” is reduced, but this is not only impractical, but also results in a very annoying “wub” that kills my ear drums. So I guess I’m wondering if getting an aftermarket deflector will reduce the noise or if I should just save my money. As always, any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I have an '04 SE and wondered if I really need some sort of deflector. I think it's much noisier in the vehicle when the driver's window is open too. When I just have the sunroof open, it's not bad at all.

I guess the built in deflector does a decent job but you have to accept that if the sunroof is opened, it's going to be louder than if closed. How much louder than normal is too much?

It does a decent job of helping cut noise, but I got it to reduce the amount of overhead sunlight glare when the roof is open. The speed sensitive deflector at the front ironically still activates w/ the deflector in place, as it's more audible w/o buffeting.

My Surf has the aftermarket wind deflector as well as the weather shields on all 4 windows, but there's still noise.

But opening the rear window helps to decrease the noise when I open the moonroof.

I found the external wind deflector caused noise from the interior sliding shade between 25-35 mph, was quieter above and velow those speeds. Unfortunately, when you drive in town, you spend a lot of time in that range.

Does yours cause the noise?

i usually crack the rear window just a little and it cuts the wind buffeting down quite a bit.
