Sun Visors

Hello everyone. I am sure this has been answered but I have been searching for almost an hour with no luck.

Do 2000 T4R Limited sun visors (at headliner) fit 1996 models?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Isn't it just the worst when you really need an answer on something and you see over 100 views and are like wtf.... I know someone has the answer in that 100 views... Equally distasteful are posts like mine where you get that email notification at 2am that someone posted on the thread, only to find this useless contribution to your thread and question. Apologies in advance. #firstworldproblems

It's one of those things I don't want to answer and be wrong...

Why don't you google stock photo's of 1996 and 2000 4runners and pan in on the sun visor area though?

If I recall correctly, I pulled a couple sun visors out of a junkyard 2000 and stuck them in my 97 Ltd and they fit perfect — just a tad bigger than the originals. Your 96 should be the same as my 97.

I sure hated those old crappy ones with the ghetto plastic on them. It was a great upgrade!

If you confirm they fit, then try to source some from an 01 or 02 Limited. They have lighted vanity mirrors on both sides, extensions on both sides, and the driver side has Homelink built in if you have a garage door or gate controller that you use now.

Thanks to everyone for the replies.

Will find out for sure and post back here when I do.

I agree with streetcreeper in that the early 3rd gen visors are crappy and cheap looking/feeling.

Thanks again!

I've got 01 visors in my 97. They'll fit no problem.
DeathCougar can get you some if you need them . Really easy to wire the light for the mirror also, or just leave it unlit.

I can confirm they will fit. You will need to wire them if you want the light to work, and you'll need to reuse your original screws. Toyota switched from a coarse screw thread to a machine thread at some point in 98-99

In 1998 They started lighting the pass side visor. In 2001 I believe, they started lighting both sides and added the "Homelink" function on the Limited

Wow I never knew... I've seen pictures of the "Homelink" stuff.. but I doubt it'll be compatible with my gates which have their own remote..

I need to find a set of lit passenger and driver visors in grey! Both sides would be good as I'm right hand drive...

Thanks.. I've never actually seen a facelift truck in the flesh.. I only know of one in the UK!!

So, do the newer ones have the crappy warning stickers on them?

I would upgrade just to get rid of the labels, LOL.

Josh,
My 99 is a base model, are the 01-02 sr5 or limited visors thicker & sturdier than my thin weak visors?
Thanks,
Mike
