sunroof (electrical) problem.. any fixes???

I'll make it short...


Sunroof works, but not automatically. I must hold the button until it is completely open/closed. Also does not stop automatically. If I hold the button to close it all the way, it will not stop. It closes, and then pop's up.

Any ideas???

Ooops... I should add that I think it's my fault.

It worked fine before yesterday...

yesterday I unplugged the battery... took apart the dash... took out the radio... and put it all back.

The rear window also had the same problem for a little while. IT worked, but not auto down/up. I had to hold the button... 5 min later, the auto worked fine.

Don't worry, it's not broken. That's the normal behavior any time you disconnect the battery. Check out your back window. I think you'll find that it isn't working via the remote either.

Here is the procedure to reset it.

Sunroof
-----------
1) Push the reverse arrow and open the roof half way
2) Wait a few seconds
3) Push the forward arrow until the window closes and then pops up. Continue to hold it down for a few seconds (5 maybe?).

That's it. It should work normally now.


Rear window
--------------------
1) Using the dash controls, lower the window all the way
2) Using the dash controls, raise the window all the way

IIRC, it should work now.

Let me know if either of these procedures don't work. In that case, I'll look them up to make sure I gave you the 'exact' right steps. Also, I think this issue was posted here before somewhere so you can try searching if what I said doesn't work.

once again, thank you... it worked... So now i see that I 'unknowingly' reset the back window right away, that's why it worked so quickly.

Is there anything else that needs to be reset after the battery is disconnected??? Any other worries I should know about???

I think you have to reset the driver's AUTO up/down feature too. I think the directions are the same as the rear window.
