Sunroof Gasket Lubrication

My sunroof was making a slight squeaking noise and semed to have a slight bit of play. After cleaning the gasket and the corresponding painted edge surrounding the sunroof with mild soap and water, the squeaking and play were eliminated.

Does anyone apply a dressing or protectant to the rubber gasket around the sunroof? If so, what product do you use? Thanks!

I had a problem with the rear window on my 90. It started squeaking and slowing down towards the top when closing. Cleaned the gasket and put some BlackMagic Tire Shine on it . Window now goes up like it did 17 years ago.

Probably any silicon based rubber conditioner will work.

I tried finding silicone grease without any success.

So it's 303 Aerospace now.

I had the same thing going on , pulled it in the garage opened the roof and wiped all the seals down with a 303 type of product ( actually Finish Kare # 108) and also wiped and cleaned the edges the rubber seals touch on the body..... No problems ever since. Quiet as a mouse now. I did it about 4 mo. ago and still fine.
