Sunroof Issues!

ok, my dad has an 03 and his sunroof is possesed. it wont go back all the way and when you shut it, it will slide shut then flip open. he had it recalibrated once at the toyota dealership he works at but that was only good for a few weeks. any suggestions?

not really familiar with 03 model.. but in my 05 you can slide it all the way back or you can flip it up.. to close it from either position you hit the opposite.

if its in the lifted up position and you want to close it you hav to push the slid all the way back button to close it.

maybe you're just holding the button for too long??

i understand how to use it and what it does lol and i only hold it for 1 0r 2secs, until it starts moving. they say the motor may be bad

Sunroofs are a known weak point in the 4th gen models. Most of the problems relate to the grease used to lubricate the tracks, but a bad motor is not out of the question.

Way back I had to replace the SR motor in a supra. Dealer wanted $400. Junkyard $25 and 60 minutes later "here comes the Sun".
