I dont know if anyone else has that whirring sound when they open their sunroof all the way, but if you dont open the sunroof completely (leave like 6 inches closed) the sound goes away. Don't know if this helps anyone or if its been discussed already but I just tried that on my runner and it worked.

Do you mean the automatic wind deflector? The wind deflector lowers when you go over 55 and raises back up when your speed decreases to 45mph.

If it's that, its completely normal. Kind of freaked me out the first time it happened to me.

this may help

an after market wind deflector. sound goes away.
I'm sorry I don't have a picture of mine on file that I can show you, but I know others have also installed them.

Ugh, I suppose you guys have 4th gens. I've tried just about everything on my 93. I live in sunny Colorado and love to have mine open, unfortunately, a conversation, particularly on the highway is no longer possible. I'm about to get really creative on this one I think.

do not open your sunroof all the way. leave about 6-8 inches closed and the noise should go away. it worked for me hopefully it will work for you.
