After reading around I see the wind deflector goes up and down at pre determined speeds. But when mine goes up it so with a boom. First couple times I jumped, wasnt ready for that and so close to my head. Is this normal?

Doesn't sound normal. The normal sound is kind of like a CD changing in the stereo.

I'd get it checked if it keeps making the sound. Maybe it's not operating smoothly and -- like it's getting caught on something, then snapping into place.

Yeah it isn't normal from what you are describing.

Thanks, thats what I thought. I will make an appointment with the dealer, also see if I can get my cat changed since I get that famous sulfer smell. BTW my Runner is a 2005 limited V8 with 5,000 miles.
