Sunroof rattle

Just took my 03 in for a rattle in the area to the right and back of the sunroof that only happens while running down the freeway. Toyota is aware of the problem and there is an upgrade kit available. They had to order the kit and next week I'll report the results.

Well, got the new kit installed.

Note to others, if you have a rattle get it checked while still in warranty. I did not see what the kit cost, but there was 2.8 hours there.

After getting the kit and a new sunroof tray installed, my sunroof now works like it should and doesn't rattle. This job took them 2 days, or 12 hours of work. At least it was under warranty.

Mark, just talked to the mechanic, yesterday, that did my sunroof repair. He said Toyota pays 2.8 hours but it only takes him about an hour. He said after you do one or two, it's easy. Evidently this dealer repaired about a dozen sun roofs of 4Runners in stock for sale. This mechanic said he did every one.
