Wife has a 2006 Sport 4Runner that is basically as reliable as a Swiss watch (naturally, having posted this statement it will now self destruct in the driveway...).
So she comments the other day about the sunroof sounding different. I ride along with her to determine if I can hear anything, but not operating the truck everyday I cannot really tell anything is amiss.
Then, last Sunday - for whatever reason I step into the truck using the nerf bar and in doing so view more of the roof. Much to my surprise I see her sunroof gasket is doing its best to separate from the glass panel. Looks like the adhesive is giving up and the seal itself is swelling/deteriorating after many hours in the sun/elements.
I can mush it back down on to the glass and it seems better. However winter is fast approaching and we certainly don't need the outdoors inside the truck.
Anybody ever replace the seal? I scratched around via Search here to find a little banter but not much conclusive info. Hoping I don't have to go to the stealership and swap the whole frickin' sunroof cassette as I am sure that will be:wow2:
