sunroof stops before fully open

OK, tried searching but the keyword 'sunroof' is pulling way too many results from threads unrelated to what Im asking for.

I just noticed when fully open there is about 1-2 inches of the sunroof not retracted all the way into the roof(have had this 4runner for a week). Not sure if I recall ever seeing it fully in(meaning thats as far as it goes) or if something is stuck. Its an 02 btw.

Life is too short to worry about the little things.

But i think this is normal for 4runners.

Ive got a limited 02 and it does the same thing

My '99 SR5 opens until the solid under-cover is pulled back almost as far as it can go. There is a little more than ¼" of back and forth in the solid cover at that point, and the glass is still almost 2" outside of the roof. Does your truck not have the solid under-cover? Because if mine opened any more, it would crush the handle on the under-cover.
