HI Im hoping someone here could help me out.

I went out for a desert run last weekend and nociced some sound coming from might front right suspension. after examination it looked like the pole from the shock is coming out to much and I'm wondering why.
Shock were installed last year I'm wondering if the rubber bushing was placed before the spacer. but i never noticed it before last week.

here are some pics.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Dave

Looks like the bushing is shot and/or missing. Also your shock boot is broken off, should be residing at the top of the spring with the rest of itself.

Yes the Boot came down when the shaft went up for some reason.
In the closup picture inside the spring you see rubber bushing I'm wondering if it should be a spacer instead. maybe the bushing was put before the spacer. then metal piece that hold the boot went inside the bushing because it wasn't held buy spacer.
does this make sens.

Thanks for the help

Check out this thread for confirmation on order of parts in the stack from top to bottom, except the lower or second listed bushing is "part of" the top hat/strut plate, although it can easily be removed if need be. If the lower mount rubber splits, it'll pop the shock shaft up through like you have, but you also appear to have the washer on the wrong side of the lower bushing. Which is probably why the shock cover broke off and is bouncing around inside the spring.

Nut - 10
washer - 8
bushing - 7
top hat - 6
bushing - "part of" 6 that goes bad and can be removed easily, need to order new upper strut mount to replace
washer - 5
shock shaft cover - your other broken part now
shock

Thank you so much this is the conclusion i got to from that picture. washer was placed between the hat and rubber. wonder how it could have stayed like that and if the other side was done the same. can i pry the boot off and put it back in easily to take a picture or put my finger in there. perhaps it would be better to replace front shocks at this point i had it for 1 year and a half like that.

Thanks again

David
