Super Bowl 50

Discussion for the rest of the playoffs about all the games leading up to the Super Bowl and then the Super Bowl itself. Let's remember to keep it civil.

Also, anyone else notice that this is the first year where they aren't throwing the roman numerals associated with the Super Bowl in your face? Something not so exciting about Super Bowl L?

Lets go Denver! Yeah I was kinda upset that they went away from the Roman Numerals, I think they are gone for good

From what I read in the San Jose Mercury News paper, the reason they are not using the Roman numeral "L" is because the city of Santa Clara didn't want it becouse its mostly connected to the word "loser" and the city didn't want that. Weather that's true or not I don't know but that's what I read in the paper. I just think its the 50th year Super Bowl and that's why it listed as just "50" and it looks better then "L"

Wide left x2 there was one in 98 by us in the NFC title game:ybrick:

I remember that too. I was happy to eek out the win on Sunday, but hated it had to be that way. I'd much rather it be a thrill of victory type win than an agony of defeat one. If that makes any sense. It has to be so hard to be a kicker. You're isolated most of the game on the sideline and then again when you're on the field. Everything I've heard about Walsh is that he's a really good dude and super well-liked in the locker room. Bums me out to read/hear about all the hate focused towards him and his family. People are so tough when they're behind their computers.

In our few playoff games that we've had on a whole, it's been all sorts of crazy plays both for (Romo's botched hold, deflected pass in the end zone against SF, onside kick recovery last year) and against (OT pick 6 against GB and obviously last year's Super Bowl).

If both Carolina and Seattle bring their A game, it's going to be a good one! Hopefully it doesn't come down to the wire like this last game. Not sure my heart can take anymore.

Yeah it blows for the Vikes oh well there's next year. The local sports radio station was hilarious today. The 9-12 guy was crying on air(he is the announcer for the game) the 12-3 guy claimed that there was a conspiracy theory and that a call came in from Vegas for the Vikes to blow the game then the 3-6 guy said we are cursed because there is a missing trophy/award in the Viking trophy case (not talking about Super Bowl trophy) and that no one knows where it is and until it is returned the Vikes will never win a Super Bowl :third:

Don't forget the Beast Quake!

The 1980 Cleveland Browns were known as the Kardiac Kids. I think the 'Hawks have 'em beat.

The Panthers are a good team but they built their record on a soft schedule. If the 'Hawks offense is in high gear they will be playing for the NFC championship again.

The good news is that they're young and you could argue that they were a bit ahead of expectations by winning the North this year. Zimmerman is building a solid team. Especially on the defensive side of the ball. They're going to be a force next year. I like Bridgewater, but not 100% sold on him yet. Still think he needs to show a lot of improvement on his middle-level and deep-ball throws. As well as some of his decision making processes. But he's super young. The other is AP. He's hit that death age for RB. Amazing season, but not sure how many more he has.

I could never forget that! Probably the greatest single play in our history! But I didn't include that in my little list because I was more talking about end of game plays. While that play did pretty much seal that win, NO still drove down, scored and had a chance with an onside kick.

As bad as the kick was, it was still a good game, things could be worse, just ask my team.....

The Chargers

At this point I dgaf.... We got our Rams back! After 21 years they're finally coming back home!!!

I'm stoked. Seemed odd to have a divisional rivalry in the "west' with a team in St. Louis. Looking forward to a little LA/Seattle one again. Plus, travel will be a lot better as well as game times.

I however hope they stay in SD. I don't see why they're 2nd in line. Rams and Raiders belong in LA. Chargers have been in SD since '59.

Yes a west coast rivalry is a brewin! Rams seem to be the only team lately to have the 'hawks number. Chargers were originally from LA but left in '61. They're Degos team now. The fans really deserve them and a new stadium. As for the Raiders :barf: PLEASE STAY IN OAKLAND! We don't want u!!! Maybe go share a field with the fn 49ers...
