super charger for 06 v8 sport

Happy New Year all.......curious if the is any talk of an oem supercharger being available for the 2006 sport V8 ? also, what is the preferred brand of remote car starter and should it be installed by a dealer only? THANKS....OUTWESTMAN....:beer: ITS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR!!!

I doubt, mainly because something was to weak, I forgot what it was, and snapped because of the amount of boost. There is not really a preferred brand, but IMO I prefer DEI brands, IE Viper, Python. And it can be installed by anyone, just as long as they wire up the bypass module, and you will be required to give up a key due to the immobilizer. Hope that helps. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! holla!

2uz's have i believe an I beam piston rod which is good for a fastrevving engine, but bad for putting alot of power on it. The early tundra 4.7's have stronger (i dont know if there H beam or thicker I beam) rods which can handle the boost and they will work in your 4runner 4.7.

Doesn't mean I'm not going to see what 5psi will do for me!!

People started snapping rods on the 2uz-fe when they upped the boost above 8-10 psi on the TRD S/C's using pullies and additional injectors. 5psi max on these rods should be OK, I might go a few more because of my altitude disadvantage.

honestly man, from what I have seen you are going to really need to be careful with it because the cross section of those rods is pretty bad.

Im not saying that it cant be done but I would seriously see about buying or acquiring a OEM 2uz rod from somewhere and having some research done on the construction and make up of the metal. Hell if you spend 300 bucks to ensure that you can run a 5K setup with no issues, I consider that a bargin.

Yeah, I know they're weak. I might do it and I might not. My other options are either keeping the Runner another year or so and trading in for either a new Tundra and S/C the new 5.7 or trade into a Taco and S/C the 4.0 with URD. Not sure yet. And if they drop the 5.7 into the 4Runner, hmmm???

Okay...here you go...If you want to do the supercharger at stock boost it should be okay...but if you plan on alterring it at all your going to need either 1uz stock rods or resized Eagle SBC rods

Been there read that...

I really think 5 psi up here at altitude should be no problem at all, considering I'd be putting only about 50 hp more to the wheels than an N/A runner at sea level.
