SuperbrightLEDs.com in license plate lights

I'm using the WLED 6-bulb in cool white. There is a hint of blue in the light cast, but not as pronouced as the pictures depict it. I'm debating if I should switch to the warm whites. The formation of the bulbs causes the light to project outwards, so in the running board lights, they go shining straight out rather than spread out making sections of the boards dim and along the side of the 4Runner extremely brighter.

It does really look very good.
I found online that PIAA makes a led for the license plate area also, the only thing is that they are slightly more expensive.

I replaced the factory wedge bulbs with the LEDs. It's completely plug and play, just a bulb swap. Originally, I wanted to do something like member Pennywise did, using a bread board and design an array of LEDs.

I got my bulbs from SuperBrightLEDs.com on this page here. It's the third one from the top, WLED-x6 LED Wedge Base Bulbs. The color I have is cool white. I think warm white won't have the blue hue to it.

Can you use these same bulbs to replace the interior bulbs? I bought a pair and installed them for the liscence plates. Looks amazing

Yes, (the 194s from the license plate lights) but only for the courtesy lights on the doors. The two lamps (over the cargo area and between front and second row) and maplights are different.

And an update for everyone else... one of my license plate ones is semi-burned out. Three of the LEDs aren't lighting up anymore, so it's dimmer. Oh wells, it's still plenty bright with the other one (good thing Toyota uses two plate lights rather than one like Honda). I got spares, but I'm lazy.

Going to try warm whites next time. I like that it's whiter, but I don't want the cast/hint of blue. Trying to go after the newer Lexus sedans look.

Any blue hue/cast in your LEDs? From your pics they look good and similar to the Lexus's. But some say Lexus's license plate lights are cold cathodes.
