Supercharge ar 216k?

So I bit the bullet and lifted the truck, did some other mods. Ever since I got the truck supercharging sounded like an awesome idea. Well is it? I have all of the records since it was bought in 98 and it has been taken care of very well. More then half of its life has been highway. So I want to supercharge, good or bad idea. Meaning, do I take the risk on the engine and tranny or should I have all of the drivetrain rebuilt? Could a super tune/clean be enough like what 4-ripcord did before his supercharge?

Give some time. This has been asked before so I know there are a few guys. Let me see if I could find one of the guys.

Someone made a thread about Supercharging a 3rd gen after 200K miles a couple/few weeks ago. I can't remember who it was but I think they put 15K miles on it and was still going strong and happy. I am also in the same boat. I have 220K on mine.

I'll take a stroll thru the forum and see what I can find.
 
I just put one on at 232k. Checked all my compression numbers beforehand and they were all within spec so I said why the hell not! I've got a 7th injector coming next week so then I'll be dialed in. I've been babying it until I get the supporting fuel mods but it still runs great without them. I say go for it if your compression checks out and also if you get the supporting fuel mods.
 
I S/C my first 3rd gen when it had 260K. It's at 270K now and still running strong. It's pretty darn quick with no extra weight and stock tires now. Quick for a 4runner I should say.

I say go for it.
 
Thanks guys a lot. I knew yall would come though with some great answers. I just have to find a 2nd gen SC.
