Supercharger Throttle Body

My gas pedal continues to stick. It is an extremely annoying issue. I had thought to try some throttle body cleaner, but when I picked up a can it said not for use with superchargers, turbochargers, etc. The fellow at autozone suggested "Seafoam" which i took and sprayed some directly into the throttle body (which was already clean - no visible dirt, buildup, anything) and the rest into the gas tank. It didn't help. While at the store the guy said he had never even seen a throttle body like this one because it is a "dual chamber" (?) throttle body - it must have come as part of the Supercharger.

I called my 3 local Toyota dealers and also the dealer i order my parts from them. They said none of them had ever serviced a supercharger (they have installed a handful, but never done a maintenance on one). I'm taking it in to my mechanic next week anyway - he says he has serviced GM and Eaton superchargers before - and i know that our TRD is basically an Eaton or Eaton style blower.

Has anyone had such an issue with the TRD throttle body?

The throttle body is not part of the supercharger kit. It gets removed and replaced at the s/c install.
If your TB looks totally clean, pull all of the throttle and cruise cables off the TB and actuate it by hand. You should feel the butterfly opening and closing without any sort of grabbing or sticking. I know I would try to determine if the gas pedal/throttle cable is the culprit. With the throttle cable still disconnected from the TB, how does the pedal feel? Any sticking at all should be a red flag. Hopefully your mechanic can find the issue.
Also, not to insult your intelligence but are you completely removing the TB to be sure it is clean inside and out, top and bottom?

sorry i can't help, wish i had a supercharger so i could, lol , lucky!

side note did you notice any difference at all in anything after the seafoam treatment? i often read debates on if this actually works or not much like the fuel tornado thingie out there lol, personally i'm not a fan of it for the other vehicles i've owned but have never heard any experiences with a 4runner.

How was seafoam supposed to fix that? :bash:

You need to look at the return springs, throttle cable and gas pedal. Maybe spray some carb cleaner on the throttle plate and linkage. Are you sure the gas pedal is not catching on the floor mat?
