Superlift for 4Gen 4Runner

Just curious if anyone has heard of the Superlift spacer lift for 4th Generation 4Runners? I was on the phone today pricing out a Revtek lift kit and install prices and came across TC's Offroad (I live in Seattle and they are close by); anyways this dude tried to sell me on the Superlift spacer kit over the Revtek. I've been cruising this site for the last month as well as just searched for the mentioning of such a lift and nothing has been said. I'm curious b/c Superlift is selling a 2/2.5 kit for $229, however I also found it for $200 on another site. I did a dealer locator on the site and found quite a few repuatable shops in WA as authorized dealers of these kits; although none of them advertise them on their sites. (?). Does anyone have one of these kits installed? Check out the link below; they look a little different then the spacer kits i've seen on the market:

BTW after calling on 8 or so shops for the price of the Revtek and installation I've come to report the average is around $850.00 including alignment and taxes.

I'm in the market for a lesser priced lift option that's why I ask about the Superlift. I have no experience or that much mechanical abilities so i'll need a shop to install. I wish there were an authorized Cornfed dealer close by? Might there be someone in Seattle or close by that would be willing to help install a Cornfed kit? Beer and pizza will be served...

Just get the Daystar 2.5/2 kit from wheelers, $149. Daystar has been in the spacer lift business forever, Super Lift.... couldnt tell ya.

Go to a tire place to get the install done, it will be much cheaper. They dont have to be an authorized dealer. You should be able to get front and back done for around $400 or less.

yeah good call on the Daystar! I went ahead and ordered it through a local shop for $159 with 10% off; i have a install date set for two weeks from now. They quoted me $300 for install including alingment and taxes (yes, i know that i should be doing the install myself but i'm lazy).

Anyways, just had my Kenwood indash DVD/Navigation installed last night along with a Viper 2 way paging alarm. My girlfriend is getting a little jealous now that I spend all my time and money on the 4runner over her; oh well.

$300 is not bad for the install considering it includes the alignment. You dont have XREAS so no worries there, just make sure they dont trash your ABS sensors/wires and you should be good to go.

ughhhh! Went to get my lift installed and the gypsies at 4wheel said that the lift was on backorder from Daystar for two weeks. It would have been nice if they'd call me and break the appointment with me so I didn't have to take a half day from work! I guilted the guy into $70 off the install in 2 weeks, but d@mn I looking forward to the lift today!

Think I'm going to chicken out. Worried about CV Boots and Ball Joints. Is there a lift method that doesn't require change of the whole suspession or ride quaility but won't damage the boots or ball joints? I just want more clearance and a bit more level look for the little off roading that I do, especially in snow. I've measured my 2007 T4R and I only have about 8" clearence lowest point not the 8.5-9.1" that I hear other 4th gen runners have stock.

The Daystar is the way to go. If you get the 'old style' Daystar like J.A. has the balljoints will be fine. (Even if you don't it's probably fine.) The CV's will have the same angle as they do now just oppisite. Instead of the tire being above the output shaft of the diff it'll be below it. CV angle on a 4th gen is a 'non-issue' unless you go crazy... In the range of lift you're talking about the angle is fine.

Well ok than. I did it. I went down to my 4 wheel drive store and ordered kit KT09115BK. I hope this is the old style. If not, than oh well. It's on back order unfortunately like Seatowns. $159 for kit, $250 to install but another $89 for alienment. Just under $500 without taxes so not bad. Still have to do something about headlight aim. I know they are high to start with.

Seatown, I changed my mind on the Daystar spacer kit. I'm getting it done by Central 4 Wheel Drive. $720 for parts and $250 labor. Alignments not included though. I'm going with the OME Springs and shocks. My 4runner is a V8 so I'm going with the medium load setup. Front OME 885 coils & N140S shocks. Rear OME 895 coils & N141 shocks. Do any of you think I should have gone heavier in front because of the V8? Rear? Feed back welcome. What about a diff drop kit? Is it going to be necessary later?

Sweet; nice choice hoggy - that setup should be awesome once installed. It's been since my 3rd gen since i've looked at OME, but I believe you'll be fine with your choices; if you had an aftermarket bumper and or winch then you'd want the stiffer springs (from my recollection).

Install price sounds about right; $300 including alignment. I paid $300 for install at Eastside custom Truck for my Toytec lift on my '07 Tacoma so Central is on par. When are you getting the lift installed?

That sounds like a sweet setup! Nice choice. Unless you go with a super heavy winch/bumper setup you chose well. Even then your setup will handle it.

Many who lift start noticing a left to right list that was always there. Typically the drivers' side is low due to the driver, battery and gas tank. Have your shop put in a 5mm trim packer. It'll level it right to left and it costs $8. Scroll down about halfway on this page.

CJ3Flyer & Seatown, I'll have them get one on Monday. Install is suppose to be Thursday. Does not look like I'll be level. In fact looks like the rear will gain another 1/4" or so. Really just want a bit more clearence anyway. The people at Central swear by this setup so I should be more than happy.

This is really cool. I was, in fact, considering going to Central also since my brother took his truck there and he seemed to be satisfied with their work.

You'll have to keep us posted how everything goes. I'm considering getting the same setup you're gonna get. (The OME.)

T4RSpectreSix: Guess you live in my area. Purhaps we can meet somewhere after it's done and settles in. I'd like to check out your tinted windows. I've thought of having that done myself. I do alot of trap shooting and don't want anyone to see what's in the back of my 4runner. I've always been scared the tint would come off. I'll post here how it goes too. Just give me a week or so after because sometimes things don't show up right away.

Right on man, yeah I got my windows tinted at a shop in Puyallup.

I can dig up the contact info of the company that did it if you'd like - it's a one man operation (still had his own legit dust-free shop tho) and he's been doing it for most of his life so he is pretty good at it and uses quality films. I went with him because after a lot of research and talking to people about their tints, it seemed there are several shops in the area with bad customer service/quality issues, and the couple that I found comparable in quality were either an hour+ drive away, or were charging way more than window tints are worth. A quality window tint is a quality window tint especially when all the local guys are offering the same stuff - mine are rock solid, no bubbles, peeling, etc. He even ran the film right to the edge of the glass and it's no problem because he uses good technique and high quality film. It's covered under a lifetime warranty too. If you have any problems, just take it back and he'll fix/replace it.

Anyways, suffice it to say, in my experience at least I was happy with the work.

Basically I left the fronts legal at 35%, so you can still see through them, but all of the rears were tinted at 20% and if you combine the 20% with the privacy glass already there, it's basically a limo tint. Short of a really bright sunny day (rare around here, lol) you can't see into them hardly at all, and even then it's pretty hard to see what's inside. So it's perfect for Washington, lol.

I didn't go darker because as it is, it can be hard to see out of them at night - darker would have meant struggling to see out of them even on a typical overcast Washington day, lol. So in my humble opinion it was a happy medium.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how your lift turns out. I know Central 4WD at least used to do awesome work, hope that's still true! Hope you can get some pics up when it's done, would be cool to see it right away.

We gotta get the Washington 'Runners together sometime when the weather isn't so dang crappy and do some trail runs (something the stockers and the insane builds can handle together) - I think there's enough of us around. I see 4Runners everywhere.

I'll try to remember to post before and after pictures. My runner's stock so there's nothing special there to see. I basically just want more ground clearence and be able to use for hunting (eastern wash) where there's not all the crap we have to drive through on this side of the mountains. So as far as getting together to trail ride not sure I'd do it on this side of the mountains. Of course if you know some trails where we would not trash the paint (on this side that is) I might be interested. It would have to wait until after March as I shoot competition (continental league) all winter.
Didn't think about how hard it would be to see out the windows at night so will have to rethink whether or not I'd want to tint the windows further. How hard is it to remove tint if it starts to peel etc. And does it ruin the windows if it has to be removed?
