I did not see that part; thanks for pointing that out.

Not a big fan of the antenna delete unless it's done right. I don't have a rack so that would have to be a consideration. Still a better price than other competitors in the $3k range.

You can do the delete yourself. It's removing the top cover and replacing it with there low profile cover. Hardest part is getting to it (have to loosen the rear headliner and couple side panels to access) I did this on mine with the other RTT, little silicone for my peace of mind and all good. The "shark fin" is only a cover.

I’ve been watching this one. GFC makes quality stuff and 80 pounds is a significant achievement.

Looking forward to reviews.

Agreed. At 80 lbs you are definitely in the realm of mounting this on your own. I will wait for reviews on durability though. If you have non-oem crossbars that sit higher on top of the side rails (not between them like oem) then you can probably just get some good mounting hardware at home depot on the cheap compared to their website prices.
 
[MENTION=439804]FoRunnuh[/MENTION] - here's some accurate information from the manufacturer and not completely inaccurate information from a guy on the forum that didn't even read the web page.

One of the guys from GFC answered a bunch of questions about the tent on the second half of one of their podcasts. Several of them were about mounting.

It can be mounted on pretty much anything that has two crossbars - from things like stock cross-bars on a Subaru or Toyota to any rack that has slots like the bars that come from frontrunner or sherpa.

They will also be selling a quick release clip.

So the whole "$600" and "antenna delete kit" is 100% inaccurate.

Even more interested in the product after listening to that podcast.
 
GFC is a great company, I have their camper on my 3rd gen Taco, and would love to replace the RTT on my wife's 4Runner with a GFC, maybe even the superlite.

“ Available now for pre-order. Estimated fulfillment is Spring 2021.“

seems like a great product but I don't plan on being a beta tester, nor do i want my money being held by a company as a short term loan until they decide to release the product.

Also companies in the "overloading" or off-roading community don't exactly have a great trackrecord when it comes to using shills to promote vaporware and then they decide to steal your money...pelfreybilt anyone?


I'll wait on the sidelines on this one.
 
I ordered one. I don't think I'm a shill, but I'll let strangers in forum posts decide! As a company, they do deliver actual products...at a little slower pace than I would like. And I agree giving them the full amount in advance is a little annoying. But, it checks all the boxes for me and hopefully I'll have mine by June. I could afford a $40K gas guzzling SUV. I can afford to take a chance on a GFC RTT for $1500. I'll be happy to post an update and pictures when it arrives. It'll only cost you a dollar per image!

I’m interested in this, but a reputable and well financed company doesn’t need a many month interest free loan from customers to develop a product. Then keep delaying its release without explanation.
The company may be ok in all respects, but this is not a very confidence-inspiring tactic. It makes it look like a kickstarter project.

However, I will keep an open mind and wait for some testing and product reviews from the users.

Looks awesome, but like others have mentioned, not interested in being a beta tester.

After a few positive reviews, will likely be picking one of these up.
