Hey all,
I’m toying with the idea of installing some supplemental aftermarket gauges in my T4R; I’d like to keep a better eye on things like oil pressure, tranny temp, and the electrical system. I'm kinda old-school about such things - "idiot lights" just don't do it for me.
Mounting is an issue, though, obviously. Putting them on the pillar is a no-go. Besides obstructing vision and looking like a rice-racer-wannabe, I’ve got side-curtain airbags taking up that space. Airbags > gauges, without any doubt.
So . . . anybody else have any experience or ideas on where to put such gauges? I was thinking perhaps in the space occupied by that little flip-down door beneath the climate controls. Does anybody make a pod or fascia for such an application, or am I gonna have to fab something myself? I'm looking to keep it as small and "clean" as possible. Any ideas or pointers are greatly appreciated.
