Supra Steering Wheel Swap??

My stock steering wheel is getting pretty worn. I love the wheel and the size of it and dont really want to go with an aftermarket wheel. And I do not, want to get one of those cheesy covers that wrap around the existing. If possible, I would like to keep the airbag.

As the title says, Im wondering if anyone has some info on swapping the T4R steering wheel for something else. I have no clue about steering wheel fitment etc. but I have a line on a brand new Toyota Supra leather wheel and was wondering if it would fit? Anyone know or have any other suggestions?

Pretty much heard the same **** from everyone.

The spline shaft will fit the other wheel, but airbags may not be the same since they were designed for different cars. That's what they say, but I would figure timing is controlled by the module itself and not the airbag.

I still really want a wheel that has a set of steering wheel controls.

Is it possible to disable the airbag altogether?

The supra wheel I have a line on had no airbags but if the spline count is the same I may run it anyway. I will just have to figure out how to re-use the cruise control module.

If you have no bag, then it's "disabled". You can also choose to simply not plug it in as there will be a plug on the inside.

What is the spline count?

Disabling an airbag on a such equipped vehicle is illegal and if you were in a wreck and your insurance company found the airbag disabled they can refuse coverage so just something to be aware of.

I knew that from your thread .. I was tempting you. But I don't recall seeing you actually post a picture yet.

I'll be buying a 330 or a Lexus in next few years & yes it will have controls on the steering wheel as well.
