Surprisingly stable at high speeds

This thread confirms the reason I have police and highway patrol on speed dial. I make several calls in a year.
Lame. I can see calling in visibly drunk drivers but 110 is nothing. Granted my T4R has never been past 85 or so. Other cars, I have been 178ish.

Don't worry, I made sure it was safe and not around any on ramps before going over 100 mph. :lookout:

I-5 is like the Autobahn. I'm cruising along at 90 mph and I still get passed by many cars. I don't think the people who are upset know what I-5 is like.

He’s just saying that it drives well at 90 for an off-road capable truck, and accelerates well to pass at 110 considering the ‘wimpy’ V6 it has. I’m sure your Subaru or Lancer could do better, but they can’t go off road as well. 90 mph isn’t insane these days - I get passed doing 85 by any number of vehicle types. If you live in a city, I bet you do, too. So while 110 is an unwise speed, it’s no wiser in a Subaru or Lsncer.

Exactly. It wasn't like I was going 110mph the whole time weaving in and out. I only hit 110mph once for a few seconds to see how the 'wimpy' 4.0 V6 pulls and slowed down and then continued on my way at 90mph.

Funny because I drove northbound I-5 from LA to SF last Monday varying between 70 and 75 thanks to a nasty 30 mph headwind, and I never felt like people were screaming past me. Granted I was getting passed by people in the left lane, but people were definitely not cruising past at 90 all day. To each their own though.

I’m not a fan of that stretch of the I5 anymore. It used to be a nice, sleepy section of interstate. Now, It’s like Taladega, especially south of Lathrop. Definitely times when speeds hit over 90.

Do we need a poll on how many 4Runner owners are now going to trade in their trucks for a Lancer Evolution?

I sold my Evo X recently and it kills me to this day. I didn't need to sell it but my god the kid gave me too much for me to refuse.

On I-5 going from San Francisco to Los Angeles and back, I was cruising at 90mph average and going up to 110mph at times to pass slower cars. Even at 110mph it felt pretty stable. I was also surprised at how easily it pulled up to 110mph when floored.

I remember the days of the older T4R's, starting at 80mph it began to get a little scary.

Don't know you, but if this is really true, you are a major DUMB ASS.

I have to agree. And i also agree with the guy with the cops on speed dial. If somebody blows by me like that, I will be calling it in. And it wouldn't be the first time.

I did not know we had so many do-gooder women on this forum. I certainly hope that none on here are driving on worn tires or brakes... cause if you are.. youre a dumb ass
