What do you guys carry in your 4runner? You know, just in case.

I have a:

1. 28" Gerber Machette / Survival
2. LifeStraw Emergency Water - 260 Gallons
3. Magnifying Glass / Flint
4. Compass
5. Batteryless LED Flashlight

Thinking about some jarred honey, because it never expires.

i will be building a cargo box very soon, in it i will carry a lot of survival/recovery/camping/first aid/tools/etc gear. i have a 10/22 with an archangel stock on it, and thats been ridin in the back recently. right now im tryin to sell the 10/22 and upgrade to either a Mossberg 590a1 or a Remington 870 tactical. that will then become the new truck/home defense gun!

i have in my truck at all time,
1 Gerber machete
1 cheap HF survival knife
1 timber rattle 16" bowie
100ft of rope
1 jerry can
5 gallon of water
1 flint fire starter
1 sub 0 sleeping bag
1 sleeping pad
1 2lb hatchet
1 shovel
3 led flash light
1 sharpening water stone
1 roll of TP (you never know lol)

stuff i bring when i leave the city
1 Mossberg 500
1 Minchester 22lr
2000 .22lr ammo
50 00buck shots 100 bird shot
carton of camel filtered
1 handle of Evan Williams Black Label Bourbon

i like it its perfect for my needs, its light, easy and fast to load, pretty rugged and the best part, they have tons of accessories for it to make it your own.

i have 1 action packer and 2 tool boxes in my truck. i also have a 1st gen 4runner roll bar for all my tools like hatches, hi lift and shovel. most small items either go in my glove box, center console or the 2 pockets on the back of the front seats. guns usually go on the floor in the back and covered up with the back seats folded down. i usually roll by my self or have 1 person with me at most. so the back seats are really a truck bed most of the time.

Fiocchi 00 Buckshot and Remington #7 steel dove shots from big 5 down the street. i want to get a Remington 770 later on, the little 22 is more like a water gun now, but the bullets are cheap as dirt.

looks like is time to stock up.. Currently, I'm running some federal low recoil 00 buck and hydra shok slugs out of mine..

you can't beat an .22lr.. is low recoil and an brick of bullets cost as the same as an box of .45 acp..

I too wanted an bolt action rifle.. been looking at an Remington 700 chamber either in .223 or .308

Stay with the 5.56 theme, but make it VERY light. I think this is right at 6 pounds: Del-Ton, Inc. AR-15 16" Mid-Length Light weight Rifle Kit

People start adding a quad rail, optics, and other fancy crap. That's how an M4 gets heavy.

Sig,

I was looking at this lower..

LW-15 Complete Polymer Lower (California Compliant) [LW-15 Complete (California)] - $129.99 : New Frontier Armory - Firearm Sales, Transfers, Ammunition, Gear and More!

Polymer frame.. same as an glock.. get an light weight upper.. I think it might be an candidate..

if all else fails.. I have an pair of 226's..

which sigs do you own? or have owned in the past?

I actually have THAT lower mated to a DPMS Oracle upper. I paid $109 for it last year. Have owned 225/228/226. Sold the 225 (not enough capacity), and currently have only 228/226. I put the E2 kit on my 226. Got it from these guys: Sig Sauer E2 Grip Kit P226 - Top Gun Supply

would you have an link to the upper?

How's your lower holding up? they seem to be indestructible..

I have been looking at lgs, palmetto state armory and bravo company on uppers.. can't decide the length on the barrel..

did yours required the spring? was it an pretty simple install? cause i like the looks of the e2 versus the old..
