Suspension Creaking

The suspension on my 4runner is creaking whenever I come to a stop, leave a stop, or when I pull into a driveway. I am pretty sure it is the sway bar bushings. I have searched and read the threads about the rear seat and door jambs squeaking but this definitely seems to be coming from the front and rear suspension.

Any of you guys had this ? Did you lube the rubber bushings or just replace them ?

OK, so I guess I'm the only one whose suspension creaks. I used a silicone spray on the frame bushings and that seemed to help... somewhat. I'm going to install the FJ springs and Bilstein shocks and see what happens from there.

I drove a Tundra for the last 8 years with upgraded wheels, tires, shocks, and sway bars. That truck never rattled, creaked, or groaned, had 100k miles on it when I sold it. I hope I can figure it out because the noise drives me nuts.

I have only had one problem with "creaking." I have had dust get into things and make noise but that is easy to blow out.

At one time I had ... oh I mean an evil rogue rock attacked my truck through no fault of my own : The damage was to the rear lower control arm (LCA) bent. It had smashed also part of the mount on the frame and bent it just far enough that there was metal to metal contact causing a slight creaking. Of course knowing where the damage was it was simple to locate the squeaky/creaky noise. Bought new LCAs from AllPro, hammered the mount back, installed the new LCAs and mount guards. No more creaking.

That might not be the issue but it is something that you can check rather quickly and easily. Best of luck!
