So here goes:
When you load down a 4runner, you can get the rear to sag enough that the front actually raises up.
Is it possible that brand new rear coils (in my case OME 891's, which are pretty stiff), can do the opposite and actually push the front DOWN?
I just installed some tundra coils in the front, and got just under an inch lift. My center cap to fender is 21.25, while another member who had these exact same coils, had a measurement of 22.25.
I found a link for a guy who seems to have experienced the same thing. He measured his front (albeit ground to fender) at 35 7/8", about where I am now, and then at a later time, presumably when his 890s settled, he measured again and the front actually raised up to give him more lift, a cap to fender of 22.25". Now he says he "misread" the fronts initially, but I'm wondering if something else is at work...
