suspension fail- need help.

I was worried what would happen if my rear airbag blew- and it did.
It was spectacular that I didn't careen off the road or into oncoming traffic. Scared the #### out of me.

So here's my sitch. Pretty heavily laden- two rooftents, 85 qt 12v fridge, lots of spares. Lighter ARB bumber in front, no winch. I'm in Costa Rica (... so no Amazon) and looking for options for heavier duty front and rear suspension, with little to no lift.

I've read a billion threads. So much quagmire... so many gear heads. I just want heavier-duty-than-stock, not a 18-year-old's fantasy lift.

Anyone out there? Bueller... Bueller ???

Hell of a setup! OME 890s are a small lift rated for 330 pounds over stock, 891s are supposed to be good for 660 pounds. In front your options are 881s that are good for 110 pounds over stock or 882s that are good for 240 pounds.

There's other options (check out Toytec, for one), but I'd go with OME. 882s in front and 890s in back with another set of airbags should do great without putting your truck in the sky.

I'm going with what KID says, because I don't have direct experience with these coils. I will say I prefer the Bilstein shocks, you don't need the high end for overland stuff you are doing. I sure hope you are documenting your trip, I wish I could do what you are doing.

Right rear flare is riding in my back seat. I lost the front flare yesterday after the blowout. I'm surprised it fell off. Actually, no I'm not!
Yes- documenting the trip in photos, but haven't been blogging like most others seem to. I may though... and I'll keep you posted.

I'd be amazed if you can't get OME stuff down there. If you're reduced to scavenging, lots of guys use 80-series Landcruiser coils in the rear for added lift and cargo capacity, check out the Lift sticky in the 3rd gen section for details.

You might find something you can use at the Blue Marlin Bar in San Jose. They should be able to blow that back up for you.
