Suspension Height new and after 10 years?

I have a 2001 4runner sport with 145,000 miles and it's still all original. I'm wondering if it's just me or if I'm reading these newsgroups too much but it seems the rear is sagging. I figure it's due for some suspension work but does anyone know what these things were when they were new? I'm getting 34" at all 4 corners (within a 1/8") to the flare. If I put 99 springs on the front and OME in the rear what will I end up with? I'm just curious how much it's all drooped after this time.

Thanks!

i just replaced my shocks at 147,000 miles for the first time with monroes. yielded a half inch increase in height.

it was on a 99 4runner with all stock suspension and man does it feel soo much smoother now. well worth the effort.

Springs change height

Springs will change the height but shocks should only change how it rides. What are you getting on your '99 front and rear?

Anyone else have any numbers for their rides? I'd love to know what heights different people are getting with different setups.

i just put new sensa traks in the front and im right about 35.5 in the front haven't measured the rear as i have not done the new rears yet but my truck is even

not all 99 springs are talls

Just be aware that not all 99 model 4Runners had the tall springs as new equipment. Mine did not.

The color codes will give it away. I believe Sonoran Steel has info about this on their website.

A rear spring swap is one of the easier suspension pieces to change out. Just be sure of what you are buying and read up on all the choices. At 10 years old if you have never had new shocks you are likely overdue and that gets a bit more complicated, okay a lot more complicated...

Many of us favor Old Man Emu springs for a bit of lift, but as Steve S. of Sonoran says, (I am paraphrasing here) they are built for load and not for lift.

The choices are numerous so study up...

I measured mine the other day and I was just a hair under 33.5 from ground to fender flare on the front and just a hair under 34.5 in the rear. It is exactly a 1inch difference from front to back on mine. I have a 2002 Sport 2WD with 265/70/16 tires. I am really leaning towards getting the 99 'tall' springs but I am worried it might look too high as I do not want to run a 75 series tire. Most pics I see with the 99 talls I love, but there are a couple that for whatever reason look very high and too much rear wheel gap for my taste. ( I really only want another 1 to 1.5 inches and still have my rear .5 to 1 inch higher than the front)

I am planning on taking my manik chrome running boards off tomorrow if I have time and will take some pictures.

Come on guys measure your rig!

I see lots of people using the LC springs in the back. How about telling us what heights you are getting with that setup!
