Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the board , been reading the tons of information available on this site before I went and purchased my first 4Runner last week. It's a 08 sport , with the xreas suspension. I tried the search function but couldn't find exactly what I'm about to ask... Kinda hard to explain but, when I'm driving at highway speeds and hit a pot hole or a rut in the road the truck wants to yank and pull all over, almost starts a wobble . The weird thing is that it only happens when I hit something just on the right side. If I go over, train tracks or expansion joints in a bridge or something where both tires hit at the same time it's fine. Any one else ever have something like this happen? Could it be the suspension, maybe just an alignment ? Any help would be great... Thanks

Sounds like my xreas acted when the shocks went out. Look under there and see if there are any leaks. The front right tire has a tube that connects to the left rear and vise versa. Mine were leaking and weren't doing there job anymore and it through me all over.
Not saying it couldn't be something else, you never know, but it is fairly easy to follow those tubes and look for leaks. It is clear hydraulic fluid.

I agree with T-man, sounds like you have a failing/failed shock that's job is to keep the wheel on the road.

X2 on this opinion. I have an 06 SE that had the XREAS replaced. My steering wheel would pull when I hit a bump, felt like it would jump lanes on bigger pot holes, scary. I had a full alignment check done having them check tie rods and bearings and everything checked out. My XREAS turned out to be shot and had to replace all 4 corners. Rides like a dream again. Mine went out at 120k and there are members with varying miles on when theirs went out. 60k would seem low but it's possible. You have a lot of options if this is the case, especially if you can do the work yourself. Dealer will try to sell you a new XREAS for ~$2500. I did the Tacoma suspension swap with FJ springs and love it.
Yep, mine went out around 90-100k though the PO had replaced the springs for a bit of life so I just replaced the shocks with OME. Along that line I just ordered all new OME suspension - springs, shock, struts since mine's pretty worn and soft with my heavy bumpers/winch, etc. so I'm getting one that's more appropriate. I love the OME line and the 4 corners will get new springs, shocks & pre-assembled struts for $1100, much better price and performance than replacing the X-reas.
