Suspension Replacement ?'s FJ Cruiser I think..

I'm starting to investigate suspension options on the 2004 SR5 V8. I've been doing some searching - but can't find a suspension sticky that offers a clearing house of info that answers my questions.

What I'm looking for is a stiffer than stock option with minimal height change. Except for an occasional beach trip or camping trip to the sticks I don't drive on anything but improved road surfaces. I do tow a boat and often a trailer full of soil or mulch - neither are particularly heavy.

I think I've narrowed it down to an FJ Suspension replacement but I have a few questions.

1) Is that my best option?
2) What years of FJ suspension will fit my 2004 4Runner?
3) Can I do the front suspension without a spacer?

That's a good start - I'm sure as I dig deeper there will be more questions. Thanks in advance for your help!

1) I'd say so, the FJ setup is very nice IMO.
2) Any of the FJ stuff should work for you, I know through 09.
3) Yes, you will not have any issue running the front without a spacer. Most do, but that is just because it's convenient to install one when you are doing the FJ swap.

You definitely want a FJ setup from a 4x4, and I'd advise trying to find one from a TRD or Trail Teams Edition that come with the Bilstein shocks. As long as you find something with lower mileage, they should be a very nice upgrade. I did just the front springs and absolutely love them.
