I have the FJ TT springs and bilstein shocks(non adjustable) for front and back. I will have the mechanic remove the XREAS. I will also replace the ball joints. My friends truck mechanic is a bit idle these days so my buddy will loan me his mechanic and garage for the swap. We did this 2 weeks ago when I had new rotors, pads and calipers installed. His mechanic is talented but his english is not great and sometimes there is a communication problem.
It is crucial that I have all parts available for the install or I may lose a day or two of work.
My questions are:
1) What else should I consider replacing or updating while the suspension is off?
2) At the moment I have no spacers, but I am strongly considering adding some to the upgrade. I like the idea of the Daystar Polyurethane spacers. I would prefer to keep it simple and from what I read the topout spacers seem simpler to install and won't upset the ride too much. When I looked at some of the kits, they indicated I would need longer/extended shocks. I am a bit confused on which to order since I am not using the OEM xreas shocks and springs. Do I purchase front and back spacers seperately or is there a kit? Recommendations and wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Edit The thing that is concerning me is if I order the comfort ride kit do I order it for a 4runner or for a FJ since I will have FJ suspension and not XREAS.
2 months ago I knew very little about my truck, though I am the original owner. Now that I am obsessed with this forum my knowledge has grown tremendously, but still way less then some of you guys. I read so much of this topic, that I am tossing and turning in bed thinking of all these things.
