Peter,
I lived in Metro Atl for 10 years. No offense intended but are really considering something without VSC and side airbags? :wtf:
They do have something called "stability control", I am unusre if it is the same as our VSC. Speaking of Atlanta traffic, I remember a wreck on I-575 where a person in a Xterra flipped her car and she lost her arm. After remembering that, I called my inusrance and I found that for the 3 cars I asked about , the Xterra was the most exspensive to insure by a lot, then the 4 cyl. Toyota RAV4 and then slightly cheaper than the RAV4 is the 4Runner.

Now, remember I have not even driven a Nissan yet and I did say it looks like Nissan's are not for me. But, hey there is no harm in looking, right. I sorry to get you so upset, thanks for looking out for my interest.

I hear ya... Insurance rates do function as a bit of a filter for safety so that's a great idea.

"Stability Control" is the generic term. It IS NOT the same as the lesser "traction control", another generic term. Traction control simply controls the wheelspin of the powered wheels. Stability Control is the next level and includes traction control plus skid control.

The different brands use different acronyms: VSC, ESC, Stabili-trak, RSC and I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting. Don't let a fast talking salesman try to obfuscate the difference between "traction control" and "stability control".

Happy vehicle hunting:D :bigok:
