Swapped RAS for Coils: rear lift I didn't want!

My rear air suspension failed, used info on this board to source the Metaltech4x4 gx470 conversion kit, also purchased used springs from them that were stock 4Runner or FJ springs. I wanted stock height. Mechanic did the installation today. The rear end now has a significant lift of I'm guessing 2" above stock, sits at 38.5" from ground to mid wheelwell. Called the company, they suggested the springs just need to settle over a few days of driving. That doesn't sound right. Installation is correct. Did they just make a mistake and send the wrong springs? What to do now?

Second issue is my VSC and VSC trac dash lights are now on, but not the ABS light. Thought it might be a damaged abs sensor wire, but wondering if the lift differential between front and rear lift is high enough to mess up the VSC.

Advice??

If I recall there is some settling on springs after install, not inches but it will settle. And for the VSC, it's done my tire diameter not ride height, so you're fine there, sounds like you have an actual issue somewhere.

This forum is invaluable. Found info about DIY zero calibration of the yaw sensor using some wire, the TSB someone kindly posted here, and 5 minutes of my time. All warning lights off, staying off. Thank you thank you.

Now anyone with any other ideas about my abnormal lift?

I'm running a similar setup, MT conversion kit, FJ coils, and 1" spacer. I got a little more lift than expected, around 1/2" that I attribute to the conversion kit. I think that's part of it, but doesn't account for the 2". Do your coils have any color markings on them? Was your RAS set at normal height before? Can you post measuremests from center of wheel to fender? Those are more accurate since it eliminates differences in tire size. Around 21" is stock height.

No colours on the springs that I can see. My distance is 24" from centre of wheel to fender. So I'm definitely jacked up higher than I want to be. Don't know if I just put up with it, insist on different springs, lift the front, etc. ride is ok, pretty spongey and definitely more side to side body roll than before. I'm not doing the work myself, not keen to have to pay to get it done again.

Sounds to me like the coils are the culprit. Any factory coils will have color markings on them. My guess is you got a set of aftermarket lift coils. Any chance you have a pic of the coils prior to install?

Here's a pic of my FJ coils for reference:

Got some stock springs from the junkyard, had them swapped for whatever lifted springs I had on there, out another $200 but riding level and happy.

Awesome, glad that worked out for you. Anything at all on the coils that could identify them? If you know what they are, could probably sale and recoup some funds.
