Definitely a worthwhile move. I did this to save my leather seats from cracking in my '00 Limited and loved the results. You will need several hours, new hog rings, and hog ring crimpers. 1) First I removed both the front seats completely. 2) Remove the side garnishes (plastic covers and switch covers. The switch covers just pop off). 3) Remove the bottom seat cushion (4 bolts I think). 4) Use wire cutters or tin snips to cut the hog rings around the outer edge of the bottom seat cushion. Fold up edges of seat cushion. 5) At this point you will be able to reach in and cut the hog rings securing the middle of the cushion to the foam. There are wire rods on both the cover and embedded in the foam connected by hog rings. 6) Swap with other cushion cover and attach new hog rings. This part will get tight but you can stretch them pretty well without damage. **You should not just swap the cushions because the passenger seat has a weight sensor embedded into the foam on the passenger side which is all wired up. I don't know if this is linked to the SRS though. Better to play it safe. The seat bolts have torque specs which are 27 ft/lbs to the floor.
