Sway bar remove?

My build is being completed today and most of the people I talked to when I was deciding what I was going to do told me to remove my front sway bar. Im just curious if this is the right thing to do because I was just reading another thread about a guy who was making an evasive manuever and someone said that if there wasn't a sway bar he might have been in some trouble. All that said I'm moving to a small mountain town in Idaho on Monday where I will rarely have to drive more than 5 miles from my house and all on slow town roads and will be offroading probably 4-6 days a week. I told my shop to not put the front sway back on when they are done, just want to make sure thats the right thing to do.

A lot depends on what you have done with your suspension. Most stock suspension is soft for a soft ride. The swaybars keep things in control with these soft springs. If you have increased spring rates, swaybars are somewhat less important. If you lifted the rig, swaybars become more important again.

I would say if most of your driving is on the street and/or its your daily driver I would leave them on. If its a dedicated trail truck then you can take them off. Either way its very simple to take them off and put them on.

I have OW 2.5 set up w/ LR UCA's.

I dont see a problem with removing it, I havent removed the sway bar yet on my 4Runner but plan too. I ran without a sway bar on my Silverado for many years and it drove pretty much the same IMO either way, but flexed a lot more without it.

I also have 700lb coils up front to support the bumper and winch.

with 700lb springs up front your good man. I run daily without mine, even have to dodge things from time to time, deer, cars, people. with a stiff front suspension and a knowledgeable driver its not going to cause any issues

What you could do is drive with it on for a little bit, then drive with it off and make a decision based on your experience.

i barely noticed a difference with mine off. I drive with it off every day. I have the icon stage 1
