A friend of mine decided to just give me their 01 4runner limited 2wd with only 69k on it! I really dont know a whole lot about these vehicles and their potential. So any info yall have will be very helpful. One more thing one i go to start er up it takes about six cranks for the engine to start and it rough idles for a sec but then it runs perfect. Is this normal? I dont believe the plugs have ever been changed.

Whoa, what??!! They just GAVE it to you? That's awesome. I would change out the plugs and see what happens.

Yep just gave it to me The only bad thing is its glaicer blue but I cant argue with free lol!

I'm going to be a father in November and my other truck is a 1990 chevy 2500 with a 12 inch lift and 44 inch tires. My buddy said I'm gonna need something safer and just like that I had the title for the 4runner.

i saw a mint green looking 3rd gen the other day, it was some kind of ugly

Its not as dark as the one in the photo. I will put some pictures up soon. I saw a black and pink zebra striped 2nd gen the other day and it was the most god aful thing I have ever seen!

Congrats on your new ride! I found a Glacier Metallic 4Runner (from what I've read on here and other sites they only made the 4runner in that color in 2001) at a dealership in 2005 and scoffed it right up. Then again, I'm a girl, so I actually like the color! I used to have the only one in my town, until last summer another one appeared at a stoplight. It doesn't have a roof rack and it's a 2WD so it's not exactly like mine, but I see it around a lot.

I have seen a few earlier 3rd gen runners around with the deeper and more purple-blue colors, and they are seemingly about as rare as my blue color (maybe it's just my area, though).

My family has five 4Runners currently, we've had a total of seven over the years and while I realize that it sounds girly to be so concerned with the color, it's the only way we distinguish our Runners some times!
