Pretty harsh! Is the school ground empty?
I have enjoyed his journey, content, passion, and a guy being a fun dad. I think he puts a lot of thought into what mods he picks.
Simple, don’t like the videos go watch something else. Way to many haters in this world already.

I won't disagree with any of the "negative" comments here, because for the most part they are correct. What I can say is that he is very enthusiastic, willing to learn and willing to admit his lack of knowledge and shortcomings, that's a sign of good character. Sure, he's not doing anything ground breaking in regards to his build, but he has a large audience and his channel shows people what these vehicles are capable of and how simple bolt-on products can transform an already capable vehicle into one of the best off-road vehicles out there.
I enjoy watching his videos mostly because his son is always acting like a goof in the back ground and because he never turns his neck. I am not sure if his kid has ADD or something similar or if Jason has a fused neck, but the both of them never fail to make me laugh and I get to see amazing scenery and some quality products being used as they should in places I would love to go visit.
And btw, I think Icon products are over priced crap (I have owned multiple different Icon kits and I am tired the crappy shocks needing rebuilds every other month), but I would shill like a mofo for some CBI bumpers so shill on Jason lol.

Agreed! It’s interesting you mention his neck, he looks like frankenstein picking up loose change on the ground every time he moves. I like that he’s pro 2A (shown his Glock a few times), and his abrupt departure from RCI full skids to CBI despite him saying why, was an obvious shillery clinton move.

That's interesting because typically if I see someone try and CYA 100% of their ass with an administrative skid, and 70% of it is replaced shortly after, I think of The Great Orange Foreskin himself :fencing: ..or maybe you like running high-ethanol gas too?

He turns his head exactly like one of my friends who had a broken neck and had a halo for months. For years after he still turned his whole body around.
Why does everyone hate so much these days? Do you just need something to ***** about?
Jason has great content and I can watch his videos with my kids around without my finger on the pause button. He's a little goofy, but I can identify with that. It's fun to watch someone fumble through stuff like a lot of us common folk do.

You can't deny Jason's enthusiasm for overlanding / off roading. I've been following his channel for at least the last year and watched all his old videos. It's great to see the progression and knowledge he's gained since the start. He's humble and not afraid to look like an idiot on his video; and all the while learning from his mistakes, but more importantly sharing his mistake so others don't run into the same pitfalls. That being said, I've trailed off his content more and more as he's taken his channel to the next level which requires sponsorship, merch, collaborations, etc ... all the stuff which I fully understand is required to grow the channel and his brand. Along the way however, the content has taken on a slight bend; part of the growing process I chalk it up to. The flip side is the production quality has grown also and is spot-on. I do still peruse his content but I find myself hitting the Back button when he goes on these ranting intermissions.

He got sponsored by CBI and made that very clear in his bumper videos. He spent a lot of money and time upgrading his 4Runner and he takes it out camping and crawling all the time. I enjoy his content and the direction he's taken his truck as he's grown and evolved. A lot of YouTubers are sponsored, honestly it's nice to watch his videos and not have to see a commercial for Dollar Shave Club or some other meaningless sponsor. Also, he's a nice guy and always takes the time to communicate and discuss, I don't see where all the hate comes from unless you're jealous that he got some badass bumpers and you didn't. Not to mention, he did giveaways for his old parts instead of selling them, and paid for the shipping for them himself, pretty standup dude if you ask me

People just need something to be butthurt about. They're still giving him views even though they're hating on him. Him fumbling through things is my favorite part about him other than his humbleness and gorgeous scenery and camera work. He's just a fun channel to follow and a good dude

I don't like shills, plain and simple. It's one thing to say you are sponsored, its another to pretend sincerity when in fact the product you received was paid and bought for by the company you represent.
I'm pretty sure he is a nice guy. I think he needs to put a disclaimer about his sponsorships just like everybody else in all his video's so nobody gets the wrong idea. Btw, if he discloses his sponsors on all his videos, then no problems but the thing is he doesn't disclose it. He mentions it briefly in one or two videos, but the rest of his other videos, he doesn't disclose his relationship at all, but still tries to sell you on those bumpers. You don't see his sponsorship in his description content or in his video..but its blah blah CBI for the first few minutes of his videos.
FYI, i tend to watch all 4runner content on youtube out of sheer boredom, so its not like I care about what he does any more or less than anybody else. I don't care what he does with his life and if this is his passion then good for him...... I just think he needs to be honest with his viewers.... or he's just another youtube shill.
People have short memories apparently...remember the last big company that ceases to exist that was built on........Youtube and instagram shills........Yeah, you know who I'm talking about.

Well, this is something he should have though of when he started posted video's on YouTube...you gonna get the groupies and the haters....it goes both ways.
I enjoy his videos, but at the same time, I can criticize also....

Jason K. is one of the people responsible for me buying a 4Runner and reintegrating myself into the outdoors after far too lengthy a hiatus. For that I'm very thankful. I wouldn't be enjoying my wagon and this lifestyle without having watched his (among others') videos so I have little but praise for what he's done through YouTube, etc.
Will always be grateful for the entertainment and the inspiration, admire the work he and others have done to develop the "ecosystem".
Also really hope to meet Jason and a few of these other characters out on the road some time.

I stopped following his content a while ago. Initially he was about the experience and getting into off-roading. Thought his stuff was pretty cool and he seemed down to earth. Then it became about product promotion, youtube followers & likes, selling merch and supporting his page via patreon. That and his videos became exceedingly long winded, boring, and wordy. His videos used to be 10 minutes long and now they're longer than TV shows. I can only stand his errrr unique story telling style for so long before it becomes nauseating.
I have nothing against people getting into promotion and marketing. This is his 15 minutes of fame and the "Overland" fad will die soon enough (thankfully). Eventually people will move on. I'd rather just not be the person that puts money in his pockets.
The moment he started identifying as an "overlander" despite going on well known and well populated 4x4 trails and promoting $5 cucumber shower wipes was the moment I lost interest.
