That was my thinking when I made my purchases. The only thing that I have not done yet is the panhard bar. That is on the list though.
 
My CV's spewed grease almost immediately after the lift.

BUT - I did not install my diff drop at the same time as the rest of my lift.

I have a few thousand miles on replacement CVs with the diff drop in, and they are holding up well.

Hmm, good to know.

I didn't have a diff drop installed in my 86 4Runner and I ended up blowing a cv after a few trips of hard wheeling. I think I'll be fine with a diff drop on this one.
 
Hi swim. Any chance of asking the guys who pc'd the tacoma wheels what brand/color powder that is? Its a great color. Ideal actually.

I still miss seeing the yellow one around. It's like we got to see you grow up on Yotatech.

It's actually paint not powder I can find out what paint it is for you.

And yeah it's amazing I went from knowing very little about cars when I first got it to becoming a Toyota mechanic.

I sold her to another guy on Yotatech I forget his name.

Here's a pic of her on the last wheeling trip I took before I sold her.

 
MMM.... First gen - looking for one of those in the 1985 variety.

Keep us posted on the paint. I am intersted as well. I have a few sets of wheels now that would be good painting candidates.

Ah 1985, best of both worlds EFI and solid front axle.

I'll let you guys know about the paint as soon as I find out.
 
Look what I picked up off Craigslist!

The guy had a SWEET Landcruiser, sitting on 35's!

I snagged his front springs but he ended up giving me the backs for free. I paid $25 for the set.

I am assuming that these are 8 wrap coils? There are no paint markings.

Might want to double check which ones your planning on using. The ones on the right look like a larger diameter, and only have 6 wraps. Prettysure they wiuld have been the back coiks from the landcruiser.

I flipped this photo around in photobucket and for whatever reason I don't think it's showing correctly on my computer.

The front coils, the ones I need, are the darker coils, I am 100% positive that they were the front coils because they have engine oil buildup on them.
 
I wonder what size tires I can chuck under this thing with this lift?

I was planning on 255/85/16's but ideally 265/90/16 would be sweet (Interco makes them).

I've always been a fan of the tall & skinny tire. The Super Swamper Narrow in the 34x9.10 flavor always intrigued me.

Just thinking out loud.

as I was reading through this build that is exactly what I was thinking!!!!
 
Got a few new things recently;

-Set of weathertech floor mats front and rear (no cargo yet)
-Got a passenger side grab handle for the drivers side.
-Replaced my broken tweeter cover

I finally broke down and ordered a non-power antenna assy.
