Swing out tire carrier almost done!

I decided to do a tire carrier off my stock tow package. Bolt on! Pretty sweet! Little minor reinforcement to do so I could actually stand on to open but solid right now for all intents and purposes!

Yup! Going to reinforce a little first. Thinking modular, obviously need to mount my hilift but ice chest, BBQ grill, gas/water cans etc. things to suit different trips. And thx btw! I think it turned out pretty good.

Bought grade 8 bolts that are longer than the original. 3 on each side.

I just recently purchased my first 3rd gen - 98 Anthro (Hot Brown) LTD,
put a Rola rack on, and was currently sketching a swingout that
didn't require full bumper replacement. Looks like you had the same idea...

Really like the concept and look forward to a longer-term review.

Just google search swing out tire carrier hinge, I chose the double sheer with 1" tapered roller bearings.

HOLY MOLY 2 Year revival almost to the date :clock: ! I never would have seen this ... BUT ... this (in my opinion) is one of the best swing outs I have seen. Would be interested to see if he's still running it. Looks like not from the profile pic :shrug: Its a long shot but ... OP?
