Switch blank next to dimmer

All,

Does anyone know if the gray flat blank next to the interior dimmer to the left of the steering wheel is the same size as the other push button switches below it? Im thinking about moving my A-TRAC and Rear Diff lock from the center console. Its a Trail Edition and Id liked to have the center used for light switched exclusively.

thanks

It is not the same cutout. The one next to the dimmer is wider and more square.

I was able to fit this toggle switch in there but that’s it. I need to round the corners a touch to get it flush but can’t really tell so I’ve been lazy about it.

Would that toggle switch fit in the other switch holes in the center dash or the row of switches below it?

Left of the steering column those switches are all the same opening, but behind that opening the switch bodies are keyed. Anything can be done.... but this particular task isn’t 10 minute task.

Negative, it only fits the dimmer or blank next to it so I got creative. Quick and easy way is just pop your blanks off both and try to interchange.

If you run out of spots (like me lol) I’ve seen where someone relocated their dimmer behind the interior fuse door just sitting there inside. That would free up the other if needed but I didn’t like that route personally.

The button on top next to the dimmer switch is not the same as the four below it. It has a square corners which is the same as the old toyota switches found in 88-94 toyotas. You can nab these switches from many different toyota models including some scions.

The bottom four and the ones in the center console all take the modern rounded switches. As mentioned above the holes are keyed but that can be easily taken care of with a file.

In case anyone else finds this, it does not fit at all.

While I had my dash apart and buttons out I threw in my center console button for reference, even though we all know they won’t fit and vise a versa.

randy88fj62 that is good to know the older toys fit the square holes, I didn’t know that. Thank you for sharing.
