Switchback blinker

So I'm trying to wire in some morimito switchback halos and you're supposed to tap into the blinker circuit so that when you signal the halos will blink orange. However when I tested my blinker and drl it appears they are the same light and the smaller light does nothing. Therefore if I tap the blinker I'll also be taping the drl which will always feed power to the orange instead of leaving it white right?

My question is how can I get the blinker only circuit. I'm about to go out with a multimeter and start testing for blinker power behind this plug.

I'm guessing they are smart and will know the difference. The switchback LEDs are effectively the same thing. If they detect blinking, they blink yellow. If they detect a solid current, they turn white.

Yea now that I have them wired up I've found that I'll need to wire it into the tail blinker since that's not always on. They aren't really smart because the way it does it is just by orange current trumping white.

Thread Resurrection time!

So T4RNightHawk, how did you end up wiring these in the end?
I've got the same situation and I plan to work on my next month.

If you wired the signal cable for the Switch-backs to the rear turn signal, where did you tap into that at?

Much thanks.

I just have mine wired orange to the ignition now. No blinkers or fancy stuff. I didn't wire into the rears but I was planning on just running a wire all the way back. You can only turn DRLs on and off in techstream you can't program special functions.
