I just replaced the reverse sensor. Now I think there is another switch on top of my tranney and I have to leave it unplugged to make the reverse lights to work. Any clue what this switch does and if it is important? Thanks for your help.

Tranny

This is a factory 5 speed manual. Not sure of the exact model. I can look at it if you tell me where to find the model number.

thanks again

There is a switch on the transfer case which is attached to the transmission that is for the 4WD light. Will your 4WD light come on if you shift into 4WD?

The light is out on the 4x4. It still goes in 4x4 but just doesn't show on the dash. Thanks for the help.

The other wire is probably for the 4X4 light, and that may be why the light does not work. As to why the reverse lights don't worked when the other plug is connected, you probably have a short in the system somewhere.
