synthetic oil?

Hey guys, me yet again, sorry for making so many threads but I always search ahead just don't understand the info sometimes! Question is I have 107k on my 4th gen 4.0 v6. I always run mobile1 in my cars. Should I run 0w30 or 5w30 ?

I've run Amsoil 5w30 in mine since the day i got it!:thumb:

Saw a few people recommend 0w30, what's the difference?

BTW - I run Mobil 1 5W30 Full Synthetic in my V8

I've also been using Mobil 1 5w30 since the first oil change (120k miles ago). Change it every 5k.

Run the recommend weight. 5w30 is perfect for 99.9 of all situations.

In particular, full synthetic, 5w30 with its smaller base chain means it does a much better job of cold weather protection and lubrication.

Don't get sucked into internet crazy about people who recommend odd weights. There was a time, 15 years and back when engine tech and oil tech where less advanced and you would run different oils in different seasons.

30 in winter, 40 or so in the summer. These days, the engine and oil tech has made this obsolete, but habits die hard. Like the 3k oil change, which is utterly ridiculous and a waste on any properly functioning car made in the last 15 years.....but, people still do it.
