T&H Rear bar install

Hi Guys,

I did a search on the forum for the installation, couldn't find any but it looks pretty straight forward. however i saw some pics that it look like they didn't have to remove the toll hitch. is that possible without doing modification to the two t&h brackets?

I will save you the the time and effort of searching for instructions. You cannot install the bar w/o removing the tow hitch. You have the V8 and I assume you have the weight distributing hitch(shaped like a "Y"). If this is the case, you need to have the brackets that came w/ it cut. I have a welder do this for me. He cut the brackets and put new holes in them to line up with holes in the side of the hitch. I had numerous conversations w/ Hugo from T & H. The bar is designed for the V6 hitch. The one that only mounts in the middle of the crossmember of the frame. Hope this helps.

That is what I was planing to do is to cut the bracket and redrill one hole. When you put the modified bracket on top of the hitch, is the screw that comes with it long enough? also is it possible for you to show me a picture of your modified bracket?

i got my bar installed over the weekened, i had to cut part of the bracket to free up space for the toll hitch. bar is on now, but i have minor problem seems like both ends of the bar is touching the corner bumper, shoulnd't there be a little gap in between the bar in the bumper?

did you drill new holes on the bracket that is attached to the toll hitch or the one that is on the bar?

Hate to sound stupid but what is a T&H Rear Bar? Do you have some pics?

That is not stupid for asking something that you don't know. this is bascially what this forum is for. Only stupid thing I see is some people just reply to stuff that is not topic related. anyway here is the link for the bar http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showt...rpage=15&highlight=t&h rear bar&pagenumber=14

White4runner - I will try to make some adjustment on the bar, seems like i just tighten the nuts and bolts too early.

Thanks, I checked out the pics. So what does T&H stand for? Is it the company name or something else?

I've got the same hitch on my V8 and really want to put this T&H rear bar on also. Would one of you be able to post pictures of how you mounted it and where the changes are?

"have the brackets that came with it cut." You're talking about cutting on the T&H here, right? (Nothing cut with the trailer hitch)

"He cut the brackets and put new holes in them to line up with holes in the side of the hitch." This and the cut is what I could really use pictures with.

I really appreciate any help.
