T100 CVs? anyone?

i was told that T100 CVs and axles will work in our runners and are stronger than the stock CV/axle, has anyone tried this or ran them? i know there was some talk on here a while back about using Tundra axles mated to our CVs or our axles mated to Tundra CVs, i cant remember exactly what the deal was on that, i only glanced at it. and i know there are a few aftermarket axles out on the market that are supposed to be a lot stronger/tougher, but cant find them now... any help or info is welcomed thanks!

Gerdo is correct. I believe the ones you are thinking of are the Tundra axles but those are longer.

so the t100 axles wont work... how about after market for the runners that are stronger, is there anything for either the tacoma or 4runner?

My friend just called rcv axles the other day. They claim to make "unbreakable" cv's. However they do not have a model for our 4runners. :violin:

A friend of mine is working with a CV shop. He has come up with a stronger CV cage. He is still in the trial phase so at this time nothing is available.

RCV used to sell some for 3rd gens but don't at this time. They were ~$600-$900 each.

At this point, the OE CV axles are the best thing available. You can buy rebuilts for ~$100 at a driveline/CV shop.

Most of the "lifetime" axles bought at auto parts shops are made with cheap steel that is poorly heat treated.

yeah thats been my experience, i just want either some spares or something thats a lot stronger...
