Just finished my install on my 01 runner. Actually went really easy based off of the thread detailing the 99 install. I made a couple of different adjustments, such as filing the back of the dash panel flush, and actually trimming the snap clip slots rather than the deck face. Sounds great, would love to hear what you guys think as far as how it looks.

Looks pretty good, IMHO; I do have to admit that were it mine (and it may be soon), I'd probably trim the faceplate itself, but that's only because I'm kinda OCD when it comes to mods on any vehicle I own.

But still a very clean install. :)

I was really tempted to do that, but it's an ebay radio with a 30-day warranty so I was a little weary to grind it down. =). But really the only part that is visible that needed to be grinded was around the power button. The way I cut the snap clips on either side of the radio still clipped in. I agree with you though that trimming out the bezel itself would provide a more stock appearance. I think the only way i may pull it off is because the "t1806" is mostly worn off so that you cant see it very much. If half of it was hanging out it'd be way more obvious.

Yeah i have to get that off, any ideas? Goo gone maybe?

Not sure that would work, but you could try it. Some super fine wet sandpaper would probably do the trick. Or a fingernail? I think taking the Pioneer off at the same time would really clean it up.
