T1809 installed in my 4th gen

hello all. I just recently picked up a T1809 Scion radio off of ebay and installed it in my 05 runner. I havent seen any pics of one installed yet, so i decided to post some up. sorry for the poor lighting, but it was already dark. (and it appears i forgot to reset my clock after the install). I'll try to get some more pics tomorrow if I dont forget.

I need to find a manual for this thing cause there are a few things i cant figure out on my own as of yet.

believe it came out of an 09 TC... not really sure though as i got it on ebay.

thanks for the link. i totally forgot about that thread. I did do a google search though and found the scion forum which has great links and write-ups.

yes, my steering wheel buttons still function properly.

Looks good. I just got my T1809 this week. I'm just waiting on the iPod cable and the antenna Y cable so I can install everything at once.

what antenna Y cable are you talking about? i just left the second one off. I havent really noticed any lack of reception, but im in orlando though, so tons of stations are really close, so who knows.

I havent noticed anything negative yet. I played with the car selection a bit and i like the xA setting best i think. then i put the ssp on "feel". i dont have the bass or treble up at all, and it sounds amazing.

I downloaded the manual, but i am having trouble with adobe on my laptop lately, and cant open it. I made some custom backgrounds, but cant figure out how to get them off the cd and onto the display. lol. im trying to fix my adobe reader so i can find out.

I ordered a Y adapter and another adapter so I can connect both antennas to the single output of the Scion headunit. Here's what I ordered.

Metra 40-GM10 GM Antenna Adapter
Metra 40-UV43 Motorola Antenna Y-Adapter - 1 Male To 2 Female

I don;t think it's required, but I figured I'd do everything I could to get the best reception possible.

You should be able to find both of them on Amazon. I ended up buying the GM antenna adapter from Amazon and the Y adapter from some no name place (I can't remember the name).

The Y adapter may be a little hard to find. I tried 3 places and they were all out.

If you google the part # you'll get a list of suppliers with prices.
 
Looks nice -

Does the orange lighting on the 1809 match the lighting on the rest of the center console, and the speedo/ tach cluster?

I have a 1808 in my 4Runner, and its orange is a little different from the rest of the interior lighting. Just curious...

its prety close... its a tad darker, but doesnt bother me. you can set it to blue also, so im considering changing all the interior lights to blue LEDs... but not sure if ill like it.
