T4R 1988 first generation power mirrors

Hi,
I'm looking for the power mirrors for my first generation 4R. Do you know where I can buy them? Used or new. I can't find anything in eBay.

They are no longer available new. You'll have to find a recycler or someone parting a truck. Try car-part.com first before a private seller or eBay. A lot of private sellers have grandiose ideas on the value of some of these old parts.

I've heard of people swapping on fj mirrors. Not sure on the model but you can upgrade the LEDs on them and have some badass integrated trail lights

If you find a set, write down their inventory number and call them. I've had much better luck that way.

Yes, eBay is notorious for overpriced items, but sometimes you do find a good deal. I can understand a bit of a markup using a third party, but some of the pricing is outrageous.

Good luck trying to find them. I've searched before and man they are hard to find. Are yours broken? My driver side glass broke along with the mounting tabs on my 87 SR5 and I took the whole thing apart and had a new piece of glass custom cut.

Well the driver side one is flat, left hand drive vehicle. Are you outside the U.S.?

You're right, that one's flat. It'll be interesting to know if the curved ones can be custom cut also. I'm in The Netherlands at the moment, buy parts for the T4R first gen's mission impossible here.

I actually have a pair that comes off of my '88 part truck. I keep them as spares for my current '87 since they're so hard to come by. PM me if interested.

I don't know, my brother got my a pair of 1988 T4R power mirrors.

Cool. It had never occurred to me to try another model's mirrors. If they can be made to work, it would be really tempting to put something like those fj mirrors on.

My power mirror still works, but the glass and base cover are gone. I found some replacement glass for a manual mirror that should arrive next week. I'm afraid it won't fit, but it was cheap. I can't find a driver side power mirror for the life of me, but I found a passenger side for $300. If the drivers side is similarly priced, I'll be cutting glass to fit.
